The world's first 100% electric tanker, the TITAN-eRR20, was put into service at Le Bourget airport for TOTAL on 13 and 14 April.

PIERRE, EMBEDDED SYSTEMS MANAGER

Pierre joined TITAN AERO team one week ago as Embedded Systems Manager in R&D department. He explains us his job challenge…

Embedded system, what’s that?

First of all, we must evaluate the two notions: “system” and “embedded”. “System” is hidden behind user interface, between the moment when the user gives an order and the moment when he receives an answer. “System” needs to be totally transparent for user, easy to get and operational. And then, the word « embedded » relates to mobility, as simple as that.

What will be your first missions at TITAN AERO?

The first step will be to define the operator’s needs in order to fix all the issues they meet, even those they didn’t even realize! I will go in the field to observe and question. Next, I will be able to work on vehicle ergonomics. At the same time, we will consider environmental needs, in every aspect: constraints on tarmac for instance, regulations to follow, needs in terms of sustainable development…

What will be the completion of this work of need identification?

An innovative and different mobility, a truck adapted to refuelling constraints, which are very specific. From users’ needs and environmental constraints, it will be necessary to design a system as simple, reliable and efficient as possible, which will permit to realize the function we need: refuelling. We must be customer-centric and ease its activity.

Located in Arnas (FRANCE, 69), our new site will open soon!

TITAN AERO, TITAN AERO GROUP and ALL4JET teams are looking forward to moving in, in early June 2020, and showing you around the new plant, 100% dedicated to refuelling equipment!

Site of 11 000m², production area of 3 500 m², offices of 1 000m²

This new site will complete our 2nd plant, in Aix-en-Provence, with an equivalent size, and will increase our producton capacity. We will be able to work on new innovative projects, thanks new talents coming.

The Group wants to deploy, on the 2 production sites, all safety and environmental norms, in link with continual improvement approach for ISO 9001 (2015 version).

More spacious plant, production capacity at the cutting edge of technology, new recruitments to come... This ambitious project will enable to maximize conception and production of refuelling materials and confirm leader position of TITAN AERO on the market.

80 000L COMBINED REFUELLER

NEW

80 000L COMBINED REFUELLER

Here is the first combined refueller of 80 000L (semi-trailer 40 000L + trailer 40 000L), called «TD80», equipped with EZ Control digital technology.

This combined refueller is adapted for airports welcoming jumbo jets but not equipped with hydrant system. It enables to reduce number of rotations (load/unload) and plane stopover time.

In terms of ergonomic, TD80 offers a better manoeuvrability than a semi-trailer with the same capacity. Turning radius is around 30% shorter to enable a better traffic amongst planes.

Fuelling group consists of 4 fuelling lines. The 2 lines on elevating platform (compatible 777-900) have a maximum flow rate of 150m3/h. The 2 long lines are equipped with underwing nozzle and each one has a meter to refuel simultaneously 1 or 2 wings, respecting metrological requirements.

TITAN AERO and engineering teams work to improve continuously our equipment, and especially our digital interface EZ CONTROL. Our refuelling assistant enables easier aircraft refuelling for operators, secured operations, and easier diagnosis and maintenance interventions. This equipment is put in all our range vehicles, all capacities aircraft refuellers and hydrant dispensers, associated to the last 2.0 fuelling module. Our objective is to give all the best technologies for our customers!

Latest EZ CONTROL version brings new languages: Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Russian and much more! TITAN ASIA and TITAN ALGERIE will benefit from this opportunity to supply EZ CONTROL refuelling equipment on their respective markets.
